This just sucks as a fan of the sport, though. Maybe the increased scrutiny from HPD with this new car got them caught but it's been ongoing. The cars and tire manufacturers are different, but the principle of gaining a slight advantage with lower pressures still applies. No idea if forensic data analysis can be done, but I'd mentioned in the IMSA thread that this also brings their championship last year into disrepute. Maybe they kept it limited to prevent this leaking out, but I'd imagine it'll eventually come out that at least a few of the engineers plus Shank himself knew what was going on. There is no way only one engineer had knowledge of this. I'm not an IMSA follower really tho so have no idea if this sort of thing is normal or do you often get things like this? a deliberate intention to deceive the authorities. This seems akin to the VW emission scandal. My view it should be a minimum race exclusion (and any others from previous cheating if found) and either a heavy reduction in points earned so far or potentially exclusion from championship (especially if the team involved were to attempt to cover up) (Hey boss I just put 25psi in this one and it's reading 28 on the monitors is there something wrong with my compressor?)

Unless the bloke filling the tyres is the same one programming the software others knew about it. "was later found to have made “intentional software offsets” within the tire pressures being reported by the tire pressure monitor system"
